THE original basket boutique was founded in 1989 as North AmericaÂ’s only custom gift basket franchise. Originating in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada the company went on to expand throughout Canada, as a work-from-home, low overhead, family-first concept in business ownership. Founder Stella Chandler recognized the gift basket business was a recession-proof alternative for the self-employed woman. Chandler grew THE original basket boutique via a combination of passion and vision.
Recognizing the potential, current owners Patrick Lamoureux and Zora Brouwer purchased an individual franchise, and subsequently the entire franchise, in 1999. Acumen and experience combined with on-going training within the industry as well as business education, have given us unprecedented success and a vision for continued global growth. THE original basket boutique is on target to reach even greater heights! Whether the client need was corporate gifting or a unique basket line with a special theme, our franchisees create custom gifts using a variety of premium foods and products to satisfy the most varied, discriminating tastes and preferences. As part of our commitment to personal growth and sharing knowledge, all franchise owners attend training and product demos on an ongoing basis at our corporate training facility. THE original basket boutique Franchise Advisory Council (FAC) is comprised of leading franchise owners and staff. Our FAC is responsible for interpreting industry trends and incorporating creative, new techniques and specialty products into gift selections with the customerÂ’s needs constantly at the forefront of the process.
